An online repository and discussion site for working papers on the relation of Catholic social teaching to economic life and thought.

Introduction

CSTWeb is an electronic bulletin board for use by scholars in the field of Catholic social thought and economic life.  It has been designed so that participants can post academic papers - whether finished products or works in progress - relating either economics or economic life to Catholic social thought, for other scholars to read and respond to.

The Centesimus Annus Foundation and the Institute for Advanced Catholic Studies, wishing to encourage scholarly reflection on the richness of Catholic social teaching and to facilitate its application in today's complex and changing economic environment, have developed a joint website for posting and discussing scholarly working papers related to Catholic social thought (CST) and economic life and thought. This service is being offered to cultivate conversation and perhaps even ultimately a "scholarly virtual community" that extends to all corners of the globe.

Once formally admitted as participants of CSTWeb, scholars can upload working papers to be posted and thereby allow other participants to read and make suggestions to strengthen or challenge the author’s point of view. The purpose is to encourage professional exchange and support thoughtful reflection and scholarly engagement from dedicated thinkers around the world whose work reflects the broad spectrum of cultural, economic, geopolitical, and geographical differences. CSTWeb is open to all academics and researchers in the fields of theology, social ethics, economics, and related fields who possess the terminal degree in their field, typically the PhD, STD, or other doctoral level degree. The site is available to scholars world-wide without charge.
